Beautiful day heading to Ludingtion Municipal marina. We were told (by one of the teenagers) that we were going into a 23 foot slip near their marina office. As we contacted them into the marina, we saw a couple of deck hands waiting by the slip. Linda was captaining the boat and as she straightened the boat to go into the slip she could see that the post on the port side (left) was going to hit our bow. The starboard side was already tight against the dock. She told Howard that there is no way we were going to fit into the slip, so she backed out and saw that the wall around the corner was open, so we just docked ourselves over there.
We just docked ourselves on the wall near W Loomis St.
Linda went over to the marina office and saw the two high school kids there who tried to help dock us. She talked about how tight the slip was and the one teen-ager said, “Oh, that slip is only 22 feet.” Well, duh. We have a 21.5 foot beam (width) so there is no way we would fit in there. Jeez, where was the dock master when you need him?!? I found him filling plastic bags full of ice. Maybe assign one of the kids to do that and you take over docking boats dude.
Ludington turned out to be a lovely spot. Howie and I walked to the Jamesport Brewing Company for lunch which had some amazing pictures of shipwrecks. Chris Roxburgh is a photographer in Ludington and has amazing photos on his website: https://roxburghphotography.com/.

Bella and I had a nice walk through town with ball throwing at the beach. The town of Ludington is set up very similarly to Frankfort.
Howie and I had a good breakfast out at Cafe 106. Very popular spot with folks having a 45 minute wait to eat.
We stayed two days in Ludington, though didn’t do much other than a couple of meals out and walks. Over the last three weeks we have moved 15 times in 21 days. I think we are both a bit tired.
Unfortunately, we made the mistake on our next stop to go to one of the busiest marinas in the area. And guess what, it is Labor Day Weekend.
