INSTACART, MY HEART

July 6-9, 2026

Probably no one ever has said that they “love grocery shopping,” but completing an Instacart order while sitting on your boat comes pretty darn close. Imagine finding the nearest grocery store (and having no car), now get yourself to the store, shop and then bring the items home. How much do you think the typical 7-10 day grocery run weighs? Maybe 60 pounds? Now, instead of putting those groceries in your car, you put them in a wagon that you now have to wheel back home. It ain’t fun (believe me, I have done it a number of times). So instead, you complete an online grocery list, select a time for it to be delivered, wheel the cart about 100 yards and get the groceries from the back of a “personal shoppers” car, now that’s living.

Kingston was where we “officially” crossed into Canada. Howard made a phone call, they asked questions and we cleared customs. Very different scenario when you are on a boat than going through an airport.

We stayed three nights in Kingston and had a very nice, but frustrating evening out with Scott and Amy. Frustrating because the US lost to Belgium on July 6. The US did make it into the round of 16 which was unheard of at the beginning of the world cup, so we have that going for us.
