COURTESY CAR - OH JOY!

June 25-26, 2026

We got up early on June 25 and made our way across Oneida Lake. Pretty area when the wind is not strong. I could imagine that there would be a lot of chop on windy days.

We “officially” finished the Erie locks about a mile in from Oneida Lake and wandered a bit further to Pirate’s Cove marina. We initially thought that it wasn’t deep enough, but it was just the algae that grows up from the bottom. We did churn up some mud, but docking on the T-head was fine.

Pirate’s Cove marina is a really quaint spot that has a courtesy car (YEAH!) and a pool (which we didn’t use). Heading up to the office after docking, we met Patti who was extremely helpful and informative. When we told her about our frustration in not being able to get a veterinarian appt., she said that the local Tractor Supply store held vet appointments that afternoon. Because they had the courtesy car, we were able to go over and get shots and a blood draw for Bella-amazing!

Howie went grocery shopping with the car and when we realized we had missed a couple of items, he was able to go back and get them. It felt like we had use of the car for the entire afternoon!
