GREAT BIKING TRAIL

The Erie Canal does not have many marinas to speak of, so you have to take what you can get. Trying to figure out how many locks we need to get through as well as the total mileage for the day can make it difficult to find a place that is available and has space for a 50 foot catamaran with a 21.5 foot beam. With that said, we did pretty well in finding spots along the way. Places are very accommodating and try their best to find a spot for you. Portofino Restaurant had a dock with power right on the Erie Canal next to their outside patio. We had just gone through lock 19 and this was a great spot for the evening. Always nice to have power so we can run the A/C during the humid nights.

I went on a bike ride along a great Erie Canal trail. Saw a turtle crossing the path.
